Aegis Malaysia Apologizes for Offensive Advertisemnt

“We apologize and regret any communication that may have inadvertently hurt any sentiments,” the company stated.

In Kuala Lumpur, the Philippine embassy there asked Aegis Malaysia earlier to explain the disparaging video that showed business situations and disasters in the Philippines.

The embassy expressed deep concern in its letter to Aegis Malaysia on the matter since the country the country considered Malaysian firms to be its active partner in bolstering bilateral connections between the two nations.

The embassy said that it wants to know the reason why the video was released and what would the company’s steps undertake in order to address the issue.

The video, reaching nearly three minutes, explains why Malaysia is a better choice for investors if compared to the Philippines. The latter, on the other hand, is described in the same video as a disaster-prone area that has inadequate infrastructure, among issues.

Although the firm has already pulled out the video, it could still be watched on some sites.

The business environment in the country has continued to improve as the Philippine embassy assured potential investors to the country.

It is said that it is even encouraging that a number of foreign investors choose to come to the Philippines, in particular, the BPO sector. They are “the brand ambassadors” for the country, it is said.
